ResortSuite, a global leader in guest-centric hospitality management software, is proud to announce its partnership with the new show “Senior Moments”. The show will premiere in November on PBS stations nationwide in the United States and is being presented by Kentucky Educational Television (KET).
Coming from the producers of “Journey into Wellbeing”, “Senior Moments” is a show with a timely healthy-aging focus as baby boomers continue to hit 65. The older population in 2030 is projected to be twice as large as their counterparts in 2000, growing from 35 million to 72 million and representing nearly 20 percent of the total U.S. population*. “We have to do something right now to empower and educate our older population to keep them healthy and in their homes for as long as possible,” says Host and Executive Producer Debra K.
“Our partnership with ‘Senior Moments’ reflects our commitment to the spa and wellness industry,” says ResortSuite founder and CEO Frank Pitsikalis. As a Board member of ISPA and Chairman of the ISPA Foundation, Pitsikalis is a huge proponent of the power of healthy living and is a supporter of the spa and wellness industry both personally and professionally.
For its pilot episode, Debra K will join spa industry icon Deborah Szekely at the destination spa she founded with her late husband, Rancho La Puerta. “When we started planning the show and decided to place such a strong focus on the spa industry, I immediately thought of ResortSuite. Frank Pitsikalis, in both word and deed, always supports the industry in really amazing ways. When I called him and expressed the intention to share the story of Deborah Szekely with a bigger audience, he didn’t even hesitate. This was very meaningful for me personally and for my entire crew,” says Debra K.
As an underwriter for “Senior Moments”, ResortSuite will be aiding with production costs.
“It is such an inspiration to feature Deborah Szekely and our valued client Rancho La Puerta in the premiere episode,” said Pitsikalis. “Not only did she found North America’s first destination spa dedicated to health and wellness, she continues to be a pillar of healthy living at the age of 97. We are so proud to be involved with this initiative.”
The “Senior Moments” crew will also travel to Tennessee, Kentucky and Minnesota. They will spend time at Dollywood where a large percentage of the workforce is over 55. The Tennessee episode will also discuss initiatives at the theme park to help employees stay active and feel valuable longer. Another segment will focus on creating a healthy home with expert guidance from Hospice of the Bluegrass in Kentucky. To spotlight the importance of nutrition to overall health, the crew will travel to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and spend time with aging and preventive health experts as well as the executive wellness chef at Mayo’s Healthy Living Program.
